Jorge Berrios, PE, MS, CFEI, LEED AP BD+C is a Principal Electrical Engineer with 14+ years of experience supporting mission‑critical facilities, data centers, and complex energy infrastructure in the U.S. and internationally. He brings deep expertise in power generation, transmission, and distribution, redundant electrical systems, and failure analysis for high‑reliability environments where uptime is essential.

Jorge has performed investigations, forensic analyses, and design support throughout the life cycle of data centers in Florida, Texas, New York, and other major markets. His work spans hyperscale and enterprise facilities supporting telecommunications and cloud infrastructure, with emphasis on redundant power generation, utility interconnections, switchgear, UPS systems, DC power plants, BESS, transformers, and VESDA. He has also led investigations involving builder’s risk losses during construction, including transformer failures, arc flash events, and water intrusion affecting critical equipment.

Beyond data centers, Jorge’s background includes large power plants, renewable energy facilities, industrial operations, and complex commercial buildings, giving him a systems‑level understanding of how utility behavior, protective relaying, power quality, and equipment coordination affect mission‑critical loads. He has investigated arc flash and arc blast events, equipment failures, harmonics, lightning strikes, thermal runaway in lithium‑ion systems, and utility‑induced disturbances.

Jorge serves as a testifying expert in litigation and arbitration involving electrical failures, standard of care, code compliance, and damages. He is licensed in 25+ jurisdictions, including Puerto Rico, and is a Certified Fire & Explosion Investigator, a LEED AP BD+C, and a Senior Member of IEEE. Fluent in English and Spanish, he frequently publishes and speaks on electrical failure mechanisms and risk mitigation for critical infrastructure.
